Incredible work by Dr Isabel, Nat & Zoe from R.E.A.C. H Port Macquaire on this little joey. He had severe bilateral pad hyperkeratosis that, despite all the best on-going routine medical and drug therapy, had become so painful that he was reluctant to move. This lack of movement then caused its own set of health complications.
Thankfully after the REACH team applied just one single medical laser therapy using our Vets1laser Dual wave machine, the reduction is his pain levels was so striking that the joey was able to get up and move around. After several more medical laser sessions, the pads themselves have now almost completely healed.
The more we learn about Kangaroos, the more we find that they are so responsive to Medical Laser Therapy. This augurs well for even severe bush fire injuries; we may be able to quickly remove the pain and commence fast healing through this new pathway to healing provided by medical laser.
